This is the ultimate raw, organic coconut oil! We have tried many at Raw Fusion and find this product to be superior in purity and taste.
Source and Processing
Beware of traditional manufacturer’s coconut oil. Many use chemical or even high-temperature presses to produce their oils, resulting in contamination and causing healthy fats to become rancid! This coconut oil is in its virgin state, centrifugally derived (avoiding heat) and is organically free of pollution from chemical fertilizers or other contaminants. It is unique from other virgin coconut oils because it does not go through either the “quick drying” or “wet-milling” processes.
The supplier of the raw coconuts actually owns the USDA Certified Organic coconut plantation; we are able to provide coconuts that are harvested at the perfect age. The coconuts are delivered on the same day to the processing plant, which is located inside the coconut plantation. The coconuts are then de-husked and grated, and the fresh coconut meat is cold-pressed via centrifuge and filtered. This process preserves the live enzymes, lauric acid, and all the other immune system building nutrients. Except for picking and opening the nut, there is little human handling in our process. Stainless steel mechanical equipment is used in order to provide a sanitary controlled environment in the processing plant. The coconut oil is strained and immediately bottled. No chemicals or preservatives are added. You only get pure Virgin Coconut Oil.
Benefits
Coconut Oil is a colorless to pale brownish yellow oil that has a melting point ranging from 73°F to 78°F. It has been described as the "Healthiest Oil on Earth." Coconut oil is composed mainly of medium-chain-fatty-acids (MCFA) with 86.5% saturated fatty acids, 5.8% monounsaturated fatty acids, and 1.8% polyunsaturated fatty acids. It is the worlds ONLY low-calorie fat! Of the saturated fatty acids, coconut oil is primarily 44.6% lauric acid, 16.8% myristic acid, and 8.2% palmitic acid. In comparison to most oils, coconut oil has a long shelf life of up to three years, which is due to its natural ability to not be affected by fluctuating temperature and oxidation. Among the most stable of all oils, coconut oil is slow to oxidize and thus resistant to rancidity.
The critical health factor in coconut oil is the medium chain fatty acids, also known as medium chain triglycerides (MCTs).
These MCTs differ from longer fatty acids found in other plant-based oils known as triglycerides (LCTs). LCTs are stored in the body as fat while MCTs are burned for energy and expire quickly in the body. The MCTs found in raw coconut oil help raise the body’s metabolism to aid with weight loss and add health-heightening properties.
People in foreign countries living on diets of rice, raw coconuts, root crops, and herbs have been found to have lower cholesterol and higher metabolism. Mixing fresh fish and grains with coconut oil has been a key element of nutrition and diet leading to longer lives in these regions.
Raw coconut oil mixed with fresh fruits and some vegetables has been a key organic element for heart health and tasty concoctions.
Coconut oil is also useful as a skin or after-shave lotion, makeup remover and has also been reported useful in treating skin abrasions, insect bites or even chapped lips! Use the links below to learn about the myriads of uses and benefits of coconut oil.
