This is truly an excellent product. Highly nutritious and very, very tasty. I use it for breakfast or as a snack in the middle of the afternoon. Probably the most flavorful bar I've eaten--and I've tried them all!

5 out of 5 stars Breakfast

I got these as a replacement for the store bought breakfast bars I was eating. I find these to be delicious and nutritious. For a lower calorie count than my prior bar, I do not get hungry until lunch. I used to need a mid morning snack to make it to lunch. These are great. I am also glad they are better for me than all the "stuff" that was in the others.

Jake delivers the almost unlimited nutrition of goji berries in this organic “rawnola” cookie. All nuts and seeds are germinated, and low temperature dehydrated. They are delicious and nutritious. Kids will love them and they make great snacks.

Source and Processing

This “rawnola” cookie’s nuts and seeds are sprouted. The cookies is then dehydrated at or under 115ºF. It consists of organic almonds, organic coconut, organic Tibetan goji berries, organic figs, organic & raw agave nectar, sea salt, and organic cinnamon.

Benefits

Germinating causes a useful breakdown of complex compounds, transforming them into essential combinations that are far more digestible than in their raw state. Amino acids/protein and nutritious fat, fiber, and total vitamin and mineral contents improve with the germinating process.

Germinating removes the enzyme inhibitors in nuts and seeds that can cause digestive problems, while activating digestive enzymes to assist your body in digesting the nut/seed’s nutrients. Germinating also removes the water-soluble phytic and oxalic acids in nuts and seeds that can block the assimilation of some nutrients.

Almonds are rich in energy, minerals, vitamins, proteins, and other nutrients. Their consumption has been shown to lower cholesterol and heart disease. Further research has also demonstrated their ability to act as an antioxidant and help lessen after meal surges in blood sugar.

Coconut is an incredible rich source of fiber and “healthy” fats. The critical health factor in coconut oil is the medium chain fatty acids, also known as medium chain triglycerides (MCTs).

These MCTs differ from longer fatty acids found in other plant-based oils known as triglycerides (LCTs). LCTs are stored in the body as fat while MCTs are burned for energy and expire quickly in the body. The MCTs found in raw coconut oil help raise the body’s metabolism to aid with weight loss and add health-heightening properties.

Other benefits of eating coconut include:

  • Rich in dietary fiber
  • Building muscle mass
  • Research has suggested it can reduce the viral load of HIV
  • Its organic iodine content aids in the prevention of goiter
  • Heart Healthy
  • Increases metabolism
  • Appropriate for diabetics (low glycemic)
  • Immunity booster
  • And much more!

Pure, raw agave nectar is rich in inulin, which is not broken down by your digestive enzymes. Because the inulin is not broken down by normal digestion, it does not elevate blood sugar levels and may therefore be helpful in the management of diabetes. Inulin will aid in the absorption of calcium. There is solid evidence for inulin’s efficacy as a prebiotic to promote gut health.

From a nutritional level, goji berries are unmatched by any other food. They are loaded with 18 kinds of amino acids (six times higher than bee pollen) and contain all 8 essential amino acids (such as isoleucine and tryptophan). Moreover, goji berries contain up to 21 trace minerals (the most powerful ones being zinc, iron, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium, and phosphorus). Goji berries are the richest source of carotenoids, including beta-carotene (more beta-carotene than carrots), of all known foods or plants on earth. They contain 500 times the amount of vitamin C, by weight, than oranges making them second only to camu camu berries as the richest vitamin C source on earth. Goji berries also contain vitamins B1, B2, B6, and vitamin E.

Figs are well known for their laxative effect and are a good source of B6. They are also known to have a soothing effect on irritated bronchia.

Studies have shown that cinnamon can lower LDL cholesterol, have a beneficial, regulatory effect on blood sugar, and has the amazing ability to stop medication-resistant yeast infections. Studies have also shown that cinnamon reduced the proliferation of leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells, boosts cognitive function and memory. It has an anti-clotting effect on the blood and when added to food, it inhibits bacterial growth and food spoilage, making it a natural food preservative. Cinnamon is also a great source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium.
