These organic Mulberries are a unique treat. They are subtly sweet and have a slightly crunch texture from the seeds. Eat as a snack, put in your cereal or use it to make your own homemade granola.
Source and Processing
These mulberries are wild-harvested from trees in Turkey and then sun-dried.
Benefits
Mulberries have a growing reputation as a life-enhancing food with antioxidant properties. The active ingredient contained in mature berries is resveratrol, which combats free-radical damage that would normally lead to the development of serious illnesses, including cancer.
Mulberries are high in protein among fruits, and provide vitamin C and iron.
They also contain good amounts of fiber, calcium, phosphorous, potassium and magnesium.
Research on mulberries demonstrates the berry exhibits anti-infection and anti-inflammatory properties, and that they are cardio-protective by increasing HDL (“good” cholesterol) levels in the blood.
Suggested Uses
- Eat by the handful
- Add to warm & cold cereals
- Blend into smoothies or yogurt
